my sugie and i had a much needed four days away together...no kids, no phone calls & very little computer. instead, we talked, laughed, played, watched movies, slept in, ate, and all those things that don't really happen at home when you have a four year old and a newborn. we even hit the slopes one day and went skiing together for the first time since we met almost 10 years ago! i was pretty impressed at us...we both hadn't skied since the age of 18 and neither of us fell! it was a really wonderful week and we left feeling refreshed and ready to tackle being mommy & daddy to our little munchkins - with smiles on our faces :) thanks to our friends dave & stacey for hooking us up with the coolest.mountain.house.ever.
here is a photo memoir of our time in boone & banner elk, north carolina. ALL of these photos were taken with a point + shoot camera. so, for any doubters out there that don't believe me when i say you can take really great photos with whatever you've got...maybe this will change your mind!
don't you hate when you get back from being out of town and don't have any food in your fridge?? i'm eating oreo's for dinner. oh well, enjoy & i'm going to watch the office :)

alrighty - i'm about to leave from a magical four days in the mountains with my hubby & wanted to update on a few things happening around here:

3. i have tons-O-fun photos to post from this mountain trip - ALL taken with a point and shoot camera. i can't wait to share those when i get them off this memory card. if you have a point + shoot camera & are interested in a workshop devoted to learning how to be more creative with your equipment & want to learn some technical tips, then you don't want to miss this smitten photo academy!
4. i saw the movie slumdog millionaire while we were in the mountains. if you haven't seen it - GO! it was a great movie loaded with tons of beautiful photographic eye candy. i'm a huge fan.
5. i am booking lifestyle/family sessions for spring 2009! smitten is expanding to greensboro, nc & charleston, sc this year & i couldn't be more excited! if you live in either of those cities and would like to book a shoot, email me! check the blog for specific dates to be announced for available sessions.
6. i really wish i had a photo to go with this post but i don't have my card reader with me. check back tomorrow for some mountain goodies!

it doesn't get more romantic than a wedding on valentines day! we had completely perfect weather, the bluest sky, yummy light & a gorgeous couple. my two-default-valentines-away-from-our-hubbys-photographer-friends, amy & jen, spent the day with me & we oooh&ahhh'd this sweet couple all day long! i have lots of photo goodies to share and if you didn't do anything very fun for valentines day - you sure will feel like you did after watching this slideshow! :)
kathleen & mateo, thank you for allowing me to be part of the beginning of your new life together! it was a joy to be surrounded by your love, friends and family! i hope you have an amazing time cruising the mediterranean for the next two weeks! i can't lie...i'm a little jealous :)

because its almost valentines day, my camera is in the mood for some lovin'!
we created a smitten photography group over on good ol' facebook & with it is your chance to win a fun photo session!
here's what you do:

2. leave a comment with some love {i will indulge all forms of kissing up, begging, wallowing, etc.} afterall, its almost valentines day :)
